Sustainability Report

Afterlife

The building has been designed as a robust residential structure with a clear and rational organisation. While no specific future alternative programme was defined as part of the design brief, the regular structural and spatial organisation provides a degree of flexibility for future adaptations within its residential use.

More importantly, long-term value was approached at the scale of the living environment. The collective garden, generous galleries and circulation spaces are not tied to a single prescribed use, but allow residents to appropriate these spaces in different ways over time.

The building was not specifically designed for disassembly, and we therefore do not claim a fully demountable or circular construction system. Where possible, individual non-structural components and finishes can be replaced independently during the building's lifetime, supporting maintenance and extending their useful life.

The project's main focus on long-term value lies in creating a durable residential environment: robust materials, adaptable shared spaces and a strong relationship between building and landscape are intended to remain valuable beyond changing patterns of use.
