Nube 7 café has been operating since 2008 within the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo, a cultural and artistic space in Mexico City designed by the renowned architect Teodoro González de León. During the museum’s 15th anniversary,  there was an intention to renovate some of its facilities, the restaurant was among those. After analyzing the requirements, a project was developed that offered a fresh, contemporary, and renewed image, while also addressing operational challenges and taking advantage of opportunities for functional improvement. This restoration and interior project transformed an early 20th-century stone house — originally a boatman’s dwelling built above an old boathouse — into a contemporary retreat deeply rooted in its context. Located on a steep, secluded slope overlooking Lake Como, the house maintains its original volumetry and iconic arched water entrance, while revealing a new interior spatiality shaped by light, water, and craftsmanship.
