One of the many misconceptions that has preoccupied the world of architecture in recent decades is that architecture's noble existence occurs only in the built world.Buildings, in this narrative, are what constitute the real heart and body of the field. Everything else is anecdotal, peripheral, decorative, some would say with a touch of condemnation. Sales offices are usually structures with a high environmental impact—temporarily built facilities that are discarded once they’ve served their purpose. This notion has always bothered us, and in the project for the JARDIM residential building in Curitiba (PR), we found an opportunity to change that logic. Rodes Industrial Park

The project is based on the idea of reconnecting Alcoy with its industrial past, its Art Nouveau architecture and its natural environment. The project highlights the importance of the architectural heritage from a contemporary, modern perspective, as it reinterprets the complex’ architecture in a way that promotes the new economic models that the city needs. Alfonso Calza The voids are arranged and transformed into a single space that generates a suggestive atmosphere that recalls the history of industrial settings and the wealth that they provide the city with.
