Casa Martha Beatriz

Casa Martha Beatriz is the renovation and extension of a house located in a residential neighborhood within Cuenca’s Historic Center. The house is named after Martha Beatriz Cardoso Faicán, the project’s developer, who shared from the outset the conviction that the value of a building does not depend solely on its heritage status, but also on the spatial, material, and emotional qualities it retains. Based on this vision, the intervention was guided by a clear premise: to recognize the potential of the existing structure before replacing it. Maison Sutton

Tucked away within the picturesque landscape of Quebec’s Eastern Townships, Sutton House stands as a complete overhaul and extension of an early 20th century stone house. Originally built in 1908 and modestly expanded in the 1950s, the house had remained largely unaltered since. With its heavy walls, hulking geometry, and oversized chimneys it bore the characteristics of a smallish manor rather than a traditional country home.
