OIL-MILL HOLIDAY HOME
In the village of Kontias, Lemnos, an old oil-mill was reconstructed and transformed into a summer holiday house. The owner architect treated the whole process with respect to both natural and artificial surroundings. Local tradition and climate were fundamental parameters to the architectural approach.
The building is situated on sloping ground, before Pigados, the old entrance area of the mill, placed at the exact spot. The existing building consisted of two separate areas, covered by a two banded roof, of a total area of 90m². A small yard of 20m² was situated at the edge.
