In 2013, the province of Lower Austria initiated the subsidy program "Junges Wohnen" (Accommodation for Young People), that particularly supports housings projects tailored to young people. The main aim was essentially to provide young adults with affordable living space with flexible floor plans in the immediate vicinity of Vienna.As a result, two prototypes were created in St. Pölten and Baden almost at the same time, differing only in the cubature and the design of the façade.
