Mid-Century Reimagined: Caulfield Residence
An alteration and addition that reimagines a mid-century home in Caulfield for contemporary living, while celebrating the character of the original structure.
The design carries the home’s mid-century curves into both the architecture and interiors, creating a seamless dialogue between old and new. The addition adopts a considered palette of orange brick, matched to the existing house and dark cladding, to complement the original dwelling while giving the extension a contemporary yet harmonious presence. Original balustrades have been retained, reinforcing a continuity of detail throughout the home.

The Alma
The owners of ‘The Alma’ approached Dalecki Design to breathe new life into their newly acquired 1940s duplex, nestled on a corner site in North Perth. Moving from their suburban family home to enjoy a new phase of their lives, the couple was drawn to the inner city suburb’s bustling scene of cafes, shops, bars and live music venues. Conceived as a dynamic adult’s retreat, ‘The Alma’ echoes this urban spirit, while embodying the clients’ shared love of art, architecture, and design.

Twin Set
To accommodate a large busy family, this semi-detached house was expanded into its twin, creating a much larger home while allowing for the future re-division of the building into two homes again. From the street, this expansion is discrete, maintaining the original streetscape and scale. On entering, views through the house open up - the scale shifts, the orientation changes to focus on a central courtyard and materials become more robust as the building merges with its garden.
