The new police building is robust and transparent at the same time. This is in line with the police's wish to create a building that simultaneously can be accessible and safe. We do not limit ourselves to the design of the facade with the large windows facing the street. We are also intro- ducing two larger spaces in the building, which are shielded on the one hand, but also open to the environment.

Cadix palazzo
The Palazzo communicates the language of the urban boulevard. As a stately residential building it shapes the corner of the Kattendijk dock and Londenstraat. Its western side is characterised by a chamfered corner marking the axis shift of Londenstraat. The eastern corner marks the connection with the Kattendijkdok-Oostkaai and the Cadix area, however with a less dramatic gesture.

The passage under the Palazzo connects the the inner courtyard to the Londenstraat. Glazed doors protect the courtyard from the streetnoise but allow views in from the street.

New office building in Antwerp takes the form of an urban bridge
In Antwerp, the new 146_Province Headquarters by XDGA (Xaveer De Geyter Architects) is a new build replacing a former complex of modernist volumes that could not adapt to current sustainability standards. A compact sculptural volume with defined triangular openings, the building is conceived as a bridge-like structure over a glazed central pavilion.

The centre of the main building features one large steel truss spanning from one core to the other. Two more trusses are integrated in the concrete side walls, their triangulation defining the form of the window openings.
