In the heart of Phetchaburi city and not far from Khao Wang, this house is situated between a wooden house and an apartment in a socially diverse environment with school, market and temple nearby. When looking from the top of Khao Wang, the house looks totally outstanding and out of place because of its size and form. A gigantic wall of 7.5 meter height at the front facing west is divided into several strips, various in sizes and thickness levels, parting and overlapping freely from different angles and directions. Covered by brownish-orange terracotta tiles, the wall stands high to support a translucent roofing panel where many small lights strung in rows like waves. Creating an environment and one’s own context is paramount to housing; bright whiteness, clay, stone flake and transparency form this three-personalities and four-atmospheres building.   The 107 sq.w. rectangular plot is squeezed between two narrow roads. The north side is next to a two-story house. The east side next to a small street is deep enough to be an entrance of a parking space. As the family grows larger, a need to reform the two-storey house located in a small alley near the water supply canal arises with consideration for taste, delicacy and modern touch. There are two attempts to work on this house. The first design does not fit the owner’s real needs as it is quite a “reluctant” design. Located amidst an empty land in the industrial estate with only one house nearby, this house is owned by a nonlocal engineer who came to work in the neighborhood. Starting new family requires new house planning. It begins with an idea of small house with refreshing design perspective to create a unique atmosphere and house compositions. Ramp, courtyard and metal mesh curtain are three major components for creating a sense of hiding from outside for this house. There is a car paint shop at the front, a gas station at the back, an old shop house on one side and a wasteland on the other side.  Located at the centre of these surroundings, peacefulness fades away with air pollution from car engines and fume. This site used to be a dressed timber factory with dusty atmosphere where sawdust, wood pulp, waste products of woodworking and huge machines were placed in the loud environment. It has now become a warehouse for storing goods where only silence, darkness and smell of abandonment remained. The factory was moved to the new site not far away as the business grew. The old site turns to be a medium-size office with less than five staff members.The utility space is divided into three parts. The project is located on Srinakarin Road, one of the main roads of Southern Bangkok not far from Suvarnabhumi Airport with connection to the airport rail link. It targets at both travelers who stay within this semi-suburban area and who would make a journey further to the central. Lining in a row on the narrow plot of land, this 7-storey hotel with rooftop is divided into two buildings, connecting by a hotel lobby. The second floor consists of a dining area and a service counter while 92 guest rooms are on the upper floors.
