Casa Justina

Casa Justina is a carefully crafted restoration of a historic residence built in the early 1900s. This project combines architecture and interior design, reviving the house's rich heritage while creating an inviting and cohesive space. Thoughtfully chosen materials play a vital role in this transformation, with elements like green stucco, clay, and traditional cement mosaics at the heart of the design. Gabriela Chávez Nicolas Million Nicolas Million The walls are covered with green stucco—a traditional, often-overlooked technique historically used on adobe structures. This material not only highlights the home’s origins but also enhances the interior’s freshness by allowing the adobe walls to breathe... More

We have been commissioned by the new owners to restore and expand the old hunting lodge and make it more sustainable. Church of La Visitation

The oldest church on the Island of Montreal, La Visitation Church was built at the Sault-au-Récollet rapids on the northern edge of the island between 1749 and 1752.  Over the generations, many elements of the interior decoration of the church have been modified or replaced by different craftsmen and architects. The most recent changes date from the 1950s, when reforms to the liturgy brought transformations to the physical configuration of many churches.  The furniture was modified, and a more colourful vision of the interiors was realized.  The church building was classified as a cultural asset in 1974 and the complete property was declared a protection area in 1975 by the province of Quebec. Vitryak

The restoration of the windmill, along with the recreation of the milling process from a century ago, has now taken on a practical aspect. Through this project, we could showcase the grandeur of the ancient architects' ideas and the thoughtful use of wind power in turning grain into flour. The restoration of the windmill's cap, along with its wings, mechanism, and tailpole, is a combination of multiple processes. This involved everything from studying archival documents, modeling and drawing, searching for craftsmen, selecting authentic materials, and studying mechanical technologies, to the actual restoration and commissioning. Our Atelier Rooydaad

1. It was a serene and tranquil building. Number 5. Three floors, three separate units, and four residents altogether! The first floor’s unit with an area of 110 m², empty and lonely for a year and a half, was thinking of the woman who had built the building forty years ago and was no longer alive. The tranquility of the building and its environment was totally the opposite of our office. Arash Ashornia 2. We are an architect couple. We have been designing and supervising construction projects for more than a decade. A full-time and intense job. More than 12 hours a day.
