The Meadows is a contemporary take on the historic vernacular architecture of Litchfield County. Sited on a sloping lot with sweeping views of the rolling hills surrounding it and surrounded by native meadows down to the treeline, the familiar forms of the house are punctuated by large window openings and sharp clean lines that bring a modern sensibility to a historic barn typography. The Brewhouse, formerly known as Farsons Brewery was one of the first and finest examples of concrete-reinforced Art Deco buildings on the island of Malta. The building was founded and designed by Lewis V Farrugia and William Binnie and originally opened 73 years ago in June 1950. Casa B is located in a quiet residential neighborhood in the city of Treviso. The project, by B+B Associati, was the result of an in-depth study of essential forms and volumes and dynamic lines. Casa FL is a newly built courtyard house located in the historic town of Treviso. The main request of the client was to recreate an oasis inside the city, where they could regenerate. Hence the idea of an ancient form, which incorporates the surrounding nature, thanks to its geometry. Caption The house is composed by a unique volume/body with essential forms and clean lines. In the residential outskirt of Treviso is located Turned House, a T-shaped residence with slightly rotated volumes. The idea of the project was to characterize the volumes through archetypal shapes with particular attention paid to the vertical connection. Caption The design reference is the Loosian logic of the Raumplan, recognizable not only in the slight misalignment of the volumes, but also in their effective formal cleanliness and in the centrifugal trend of the space. Just outside the city walls of Treviso, in an area characterized by large green spaces and important gardens, is located the Pietra Scolpita building. The unique detail that characterizes the facade is the carved stone effect, recreated, with the glazing technique, by switching solids and voids with the use of setbacks and inclined planes.
