House under the shadow of a Tree
Chuy and Cesar decided to recover a 90 m2 space on the outskirts of the city, taking the optimization of resources to the limit, an important challenge that led us to carry out concrete actions to quickly give the building a new perception, in addition to diversifying its use, having as an immediate priority its operation as a house and seeking that the impact on the land would be null.

The actions were several and we carried them out very carefully, for example, the reuse of materials that we found in the building such as glass, doors and gates.

Architettura Povera
Obra's first solo show entitled Architettura Povera opened in the BEB Gallery at the Rhode Island School of Design in 2004. The exhibition explored the guiding principles of experimentation unhindered by tradition, complete openness towards materials and processes, and the rejection of a defined style which characterized the "Arte Povera" movement of the late 60's and early 70's in Italy. The work is surrounded by an eight-foot Wall of Lessons constructed of 3/32" thick luan plywood interlocking units. Each unit is etched with a brief "lesson." In this manner the physical effort of assembling the wall, completed by a crew of 20 RISD students, is itself an educational experience.
