The volume for the State Archives, located in the city center, is meticulously matched to the scale of the surrounding buildings. The sturdy corner building respects the pattern of the street onto which it fronts, while the long horizontal volume behind adheres to the cornice height of the surrounding streets and alleys. At the end of the horizontal wing, the facade is set back from the plot boundary. The conservation project for the Book Tower aims at restoring the historical site of the University Library, situated in the lively quartier Latin of Ghent, meanwhile at transforming it into a library for the 21st Century. The design unites the ambitions of the University to respectfully repair the monumental site to its original condition, but also to render it a contemporary house for a great diversity of users and for the valuable own collection of the institute. A non-profit organization of art and culture, the Asia Art Archive is a platform for new ideas of art, centering particularly peripheral art knowledge and histories that have been historically sidelined. A space hosting an exhibition of 100 of the most important documents in Russian history is a two-part structure comprised of two large exposition halls facing each other. The first hall accommodates the documents, while the other displays rare artifacts of archival practice from the 17th century on, as well as several multimedia installations. All the historical documents in the first part of the exhibition are placed in individual niches and spread along the perimeter of the hall. The University of Guelph McLaughlin Library is central to the University community as a valued partner and catalyst for learning, research, and knowledge-creation.Originally built to cater to 10,000 students and a collection of 600,000 they have grown to serve roughly 24,000 students and hold a collection of 1.2 million. They were rapidly running out of space and needed help.Our Storage Experts worked with staff at McLaughlin Library to design a solution that would condense their collections, creating more collaborative space for students.
