Western Sydney International Airport

A debut look inside the newly completed Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport (WSI) terminal reveals a design that redefines airport architecture in Australia – grounded in place, shaped by light and built for the future of aviation.  Trevor Mein As the first major airport built in Australia in over 50 years, WSI signals a generational shift that will transform Western Sydney. Located in Badgerys Creek, the terminal is a catalyst for long-term economic, social and cultural opportunity.  Trevor Mein From initial design concepts by COX Architecture and Zaha Hadid Architects to the design and construction by Multiplex and Woods Bagot, the terminal blends innovation with functionality. Collins Aerospace Singapore

ID21 worked closely with Collins Aerospace to design an office reflective of its dedication to aviation innovation in Singapore. Dedicated to continually evolving their expertise in the field of aviation, Collins Aerospace wanted to reflect that boldness in their office space - which we managed to convey through an unconventional and sleek office entryway. Owen Raggett The core inspiration for this new office design is an open airfield with various ‘aircraft hangars’ that will act as various work areas for the staff to touchdown for formal and informal meetings or focus work. Similar to a plane turbine engine, each team area has been designed to function as a ‘propeller’ for collaboration and creativity with th... More

ENAC Academy Building

Oneworks’ proposal for the new Enac Academy has been designed to create an efficient, sustainable, comfortable and iconic building, capable of becoming a promoter of a renewed relationship with the existing precious landscape. Located to the north of the Rome Urbe Airport perimeter, the new Enac Academy will be appropriately separated from the airport runway and related activities with the construction of a new access road from the North-West. The complex, four-hectare site is surrounded by a bend of the R... More

Helibarn Studio

The Helibarn Studio out-building is located in Montana. The structure includes a guest studio, garage and helicopter/equipment hanger.  The project is located on axis from the helicopter approach as suggested by experienced pilot consultants. The project buries itself into the hillside, diminishing the scale from the garage / drive approach. Conceptually the helicopter hanger ‘grounds’ itself like a rock while the upper level / lower garage share a continuous roof with overhangs that ‘lift-off or float’. The glass tower elevation is meant to act as a light beacon upon aerial approach and to assist with navigation and landing. The lines and materials of the building are interpretations of the utilitarian equipme... More

Orio al Serio International Airport

Well known throughout Europe, Bergamo is the fourth most active airport in Italy and a recognized low-cost gateway for Milan. In this fast-growing scenario, attentive management of the functional demand has identified the need for development, whilst preserving airport operations, through diversifying revenues and the introduction of commercial spaces. In a long-term scenario, an overall revision of the airport layout will solve capacity bottlenecks concerning the terminal, accessibility, parking areas and airside activities. One Works carried out planning and design activities along with the construction site supervision of the principal airport expansion projects, interpreting and accompanying airport growth and related needs.
