a2i Office Renovation, ICT Tower, Dhaka
Aspire to Innovate (a2i) runs the Bangladesh government's digital service programme from the 13th floor of ICT Tower in Agargaon, Dhaka. By 2021 the 6,500 sft floor had been added to piece by piece and no longer read as one office. Studio Archifiction was appointed to renovate it in use and to give the programme a visual identity that could travel to its other offices. The work completed in 2022.
Identity was treated as construction, not decoration. At the entrance a wall of the programme's key words in raised lettering sets the tone; a slatted timber panel carries the logo; a black iron display frame with glass shelves holds awards and publications; and a pair of relief panels in timber frames faces a wall-mounted screen. Multipurpose Conference Building of BCDM
Being the largest NGO of the world, BRAC often arranges training and other conferences in their own facility. Located within BRAC’s Rajendrapur training campus, this Multipurpose Conference Building is designed as a quiet insertion—capable of hosting large gatherings while respecting the site’s existing configuration. Positioned east of a lake and slightly detached from surrounding facilities, the building sits within a serene landscape bordered by water and forest.

Sanchita Residence
“Shanchita” means a “collection of memories”, in a way to treasure. The lifestyle of Dhaka has considerably changed over the last 35 years. Beautiful one unit houses with gardens have been replaced by uncaring high-rise apartments. Today’s apartments serve only to provide us with a residence and do little to become a home. The houses of the yesteryears held a rich collection of memories because families lived together, their gardens were treasured by the children to the elderly. There trees, verandas, terraces were not just elements but integral part of the life of the occupants.
