Bartok
Barcode Architects developed an apartment complex with urban allure and contemporary architecture that subtly fits into its context along the Bartokplein in the Arnhem city center. The project consists of 62 inviting urban dwellings with a varied commercial program in the plinth, further enhancing the liveliness of the Bartokplein. The apartments are accessed via a spacious and attractive courtyard.

Dresden City Headquarters
Barcode Architects and Tchoban Voss Architekten have created the winning proposal for the prestigious design competition for the new Dresden City Headquarters. The 34,000m2 'Verwaltungszentrum' is situated on a prominent inner city location and will be part of a larger urban transformation of the Ferdinandplatz.
The Dresden City Headquarters has an inviting, all-sided character, with three urban windows carved from the volume. The opening at the Ferdinandplatz establishes a strong relation with the square while the window at the northside provides a unique panorama and connects to the monumental City Hall. A lifted green patio faces the Grosser Garten and reflects the green ambitions of the city.

Earth Simulation Laboratory
The Earth Simulation Laboratory (ESL) is Barcode Architects' large-scale transformation of the Robert J. Van de Graaff laboratory, the former particle accelerator laboratory at Utrecht Science Park (USP), the Netherlands. The new ESL brings the different research groups of the faculty of Geosciences together in one location. It is a dynamic building, where the user can experience whether it is day or evening, whether the sun is shining outside or whether it is raining. The 7.000m² building has a program of various laboratories and research spaces for experimental and physical research, workshops, archive rooms and offices.

With The Muse, Rotterdam has gained a new iconic high-rise project. Barcode Architects' striking residential tower is located on the Wijnhaven in the up-and-coming Maritime District. The Muse's program is focused on urban housing quality, with lots of space for social interaction, a lively plinth and features that enhance the living comfort of the residentsThe Muse gives a new boost to the positive urban revitalization of Rotterdam. Initiated by Barcode Architects in 2013, the project currently is the epitome of the city’s high rise vision, which was presented last year.

CasaNova
In the Maritime District, the first triangular tower in the Rotterdam skyline is emerging. CasaNova is a 110-metre tower with an iconic silhouette. The building forms an ensemble with The Muse, the sculptural residential tower by Barcode Architects on the adjacent plot, which was completed last year. Both towers are designed in synergy, both architecturally and in terms of the collective program.

Villa X
Villa X combines solid and void in a geometrically minimalistic composition. Based on the clients’ desires for both openness and privacy, Barcode Architects designed a living space that blends seamlessly with the garden, as well as enclosed rooms that would allow the couple to “close the door”. Simplicity, material quality, and a contemporary appearance were key aspects of the design.
