Metropole Residential Complex

Metropole is a residential complex in Almaty conceived as an architectural response to the visual uniformity of large-scale urban development. The project explores how a substantial residential volume can acquire a more dynamic and human character through rhythm, depth, landscape and the careful articulation of façades. The architectural composition is based on a system of projecting terraces and cantilevered balconies that extend beyond the main building volume. These elements create a changing silhouette and generate a continuous play of light and shadow throughout the day. Rather than treating the façade as a flat surface, the project gives it depth, movement and a strong vertical rhythm. Basire Design Basire Desig... More

Almaty Theatre is a multifunctional cultural complex located in the southern part of Almaty, Kazakhstan, against the foothill landscape of the Trans-Ili Alatau. Completed in 2022, the 13,990 m² building was designed by Basire Design as a place where architecture, performance, education and public life come together within a single spatial system. Basire Design Basire Design Basire Design Basire Design The architecture is composed of fluid, layered volumes that respond to the scale of the surrounding landscape. Light-colored stone gives the building a sculptural and monumental character, while extensive glazing visually reduces its mass and opens the public interiors toward the city and the mountains.
