Copenhagen health house

With respect for the surrounding area and a strong focus on aesthetics, Dorte Mandrup A/S has designed a building that accommodates the required facilities while offering a remarkable spatial experience. The building makes extensive use of timber and its many architectural possibilities. Through close collaboration with the architects, the main contractor Einar Kornerup A/S has successfully translated the drawings into reality. The building contains many elements and details that required new approaches to construction. Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) Panels

Invisibly integrating high quality PV technology in ventilated solar rain-screens combine architectural, economic and environmental qualities to produce a unique and transformative building material. The solar facade will pay for itself both financially and environmentally while at the same time providing a highly durable and resilience cladding that will pay for itself many times over its multi generational life. Ventilated rain-screens are a proven cladding solutions that protects the building against the elements and lower operational costs by simplifying maintenance and lower theremal load of the building. The structure also lends itself easily to reuse in a circular resource economy and when integrating PV it will furthermore produce... More

Single-family house in Bern

The roof of a house is not only a durable protection against wind and weather. As part of the dream home, it also acts as an eye-catcher and rounds off the architectural design of the entire property. This is what the owners of this home thought, too, who took the opportunity to upgrade their house aesthetically and in terms of energy technology as part of a roof extension to gain living space. Conventional solar panels were out of the question for them. The visual appearance of the house and the most ecological building style possible were the top priorities for the owners. At the same time, optimal energy generation was to be achieved by covering as much of the roof surface as possible with solar tiles. A clear case for the products from... More

Willems Logistics / van Caem Transporten

The largest Dutch BIPV facade installation on an industrial building. Covering 540 square meter, the installation utilizes TULiPPS innovative Click&Go installation system. The solar faccade consists of 240 frameless solar panels and 256 aluminium composite cassettes from Plastica. The estimated annual energy (kWh) production of the Van Caem BIPV faccade is 62.000 kWh per year, equal to the average annual energy consumption of 18 households. Within the EnergyMatching project, TULiPPS, Onyx, FerroAmp, and Plastica cooperated to realize the installation. Caption BIPV Click&Go System The Click&Go BIPV facade is prefabricated and delivered with solar panels as a complete package. The Click&Go mounting system is designed to... More

New build eco family home, Surrey

ArchitectureLIVE were appointed to provide a redesign for a new-build family home replacing existing WW2 structures in rolling Surrey countryside. Our proposal is for the construction of a partially pre-fabricated 2-storey single family home with an attached double garage, outbuildings and an outdoor swimming pool. The new design seeks to blend in with its natural surroundings through the use of a combination of locally sourced natural materials such as stone and timber cladding. The planned orientation of the dwelling responds sympathetically to it's setting by framing the mature trees and is optimal for the use of renewables. Building integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) and a ground-source heat pump combined with a high performance bu... More
