The Breeze Block House

Interior designer Leigh Azriel transformed a modest single-story semi-detached house into a 260sqm, four-level home that clearly separates living areas, bedrooms, and a private rental unit. Villa Lagoon Tile's new Breeze Blocks are adding to the revival of mid-century modern architecture, with a more refined version of the pattern blocks of the original era. We like to call them "Breeze Blocks 2.0". These hand-made blocks use finer sand aggregate and hydraulic presses, rather than the course cast products of the past. This makes these blocks thinner, smoother, and generally more appealing than their "1.0" counterparts. Interior concept — contemporary laconic space for lovers of Scandinavian culture and mythology The color palette was arranged around shades of blue. In the guest room, we applied prem color-blok — we painted one wall with a deep shade of the night sky, and we decorated the loggia with this flower, which is partially visible from the guest room. The blue color "travels" throughout the apartment in various forms. In the hall there is a blue entrance door, in the bathroom there are elements of ornament, in the bedroom there are notes in textiles. Block House

By extending at ground floor and reconfiguring the plan, a spacious and light filled minimal home was created with open plan kitchen, dining and living areas opening directly to the outside with frameless triple glazed windows and large sliding door framing the garden with views from the front door increasing the sense of space and garden connection.Industrial materials were exposed and celebrated such as black MDF for the kitchen, concrete blocks for the exposed blockwork walls and concrete floor which also reduced construction costs.
