Metalworkers’ Union Headquarters

To value hard work: that is the union’s main concern. This is something to be expressed often, be it in actions or in the words or gestures. The building that houses the union is one big gesture that symbolizes this idea-force. It wants to be present in the city’s scenery because it is proud of its mission. It wants to be open to all gazes, transparent and welcoming, because it has nothing to hide. Its inner square fits all its fights and claims. From that comes our idea to create the room for collective work, all interconnected, solidary, committed, simultaneous. Parc Zodíaco Building

The residential building was developed to harmonize with its surroundings, so we used curves, balconies, and gardens as a way to insert it into the landscape, softening its contours.Located on the northwest slope between Rua Zodíaco and Avenida Terra, in the Santa Lucia district, the site and its surroundings are strictly residential. The building has an 11.8% occupancy rate and a permeable area of 38.7% with 2752.5 square meters endowed with gardens and open areas. note that the Land use and Occupation Law requires only 20%. All boundaries are free from any type of construction. The building only touches them below ground. Lateral clearances are approximately 20m on the left side and 26m on the right side.[minimum clearance required is 15m.... More

The mass is further fractured into two wings linked by a transparent volume with the main entrance and convivial spaces of interaction between employees of all the departments.#Architectural intentionsPositioned along the southern and western limits of the block, the massing of the building creates an urban form allowing transparency between public space and the heavily planted courtyard garden. While enjoying a city center location, the building takes advantage of a peaceful and green environment.Three majors axes were identified during the first exchang... More

LE GERMAIN HOTEL & SPA CHARLEVOIX

Architecture by LEMAYMICHAUD Architecture Design, St-Gelais Montminy and Hudon Julien in joint venture. At the heart of Baie-Saint-Paul, Québec, on land that once housed the largest wooden farm in Canada, a modern getaway has taken root. Hotel La Ferme is the most contemporary of country hotels. Its namesake was an iconic wooden farm, which was ravaged by fire in 1997. From its ashes a warm, unique space was created. LEMAYMICHAUD crafted the look and feel of the hotel. Our mandate was to represent the history and culture of the area, to use local items, and to showcase the talents of local artisans. In keeping with its history, La Ferme features barn-inspired wood features throughout the build (think pillars and exposed... More
