As you approach the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Ceramitex® Sintered Ceramic Facade System by Elemex provides a beautiful white surface that effortlessly amalgamates with the intricate angles of the building elevations and roof while doubling as a 250-foot long projection screen. Sutherland Road is a new development in Walthamstow, east London, which combines residential, medical and landscape design. The site was formerly occupied by semi-derelict industrial units, and backs onto older terraced housing behind. The challenge was to create a new, mixed-tenure development that could work with the contrasting boundary conditions whilst providing a sense of place.Designed as a cohesive whole, the scheme provides 59 new affordable homes, a health centre, a shared communal garden and integrated landscaping throughout. The Quarterhouse is a multi-purpose Arts and Business Centre that forms a key element of the arts-led regeneration of Folkestone spearheaded by client The Creative Foundation, a charitable trust. The building includes a 220 seat, 500 standing multipurpose auditorium for music, dance, theatre, film performances and conferences; ground floor foyer and exhibition space; first floor cafe/bar and a top floor business enterprise centre.
