Gower Mausoleum
Los Angeles’ iconic Hollywood Forever Cemetery has unveiled the first phase of its new vertical mausoleum, one that will eventually provide eternal housing for over 50,000 deceased Angelenos. Designed by award-winning, Los Angeles-based firm Lehrer Architects LA, led by AIA Los Angeles Gold Medalist, Michael B. Lehrer, FAIA and completed by Roberto Sheinberg’s Arquitectura y Diseño, this monumental addition will extend the life of the Cemetery another 50 years by ultimately adding 22,500 new crypt spaces, along with 30,000 niches for ashes, in a building that both enhances and celebrates the cemetery’s iconic cultural presence in the city. Extension of Valfabbrica cemetery
The enlargement of cemetery in Valfabbrica, an ancient city of medieval origin located in Umbria, Italy, is a project system closes towards the exterior and opens towards the interior of the existing complex, mediating the tombs with a loggia punctuated by large diameter columns, so as to make them perceived as a spatial device capable of functioning as a threshold that defines the sacredness of space.

The intervention consists of a series of transformations of the pedestrian soils and of the current permeable surfaces in order to generate a new system of journeys and specialized uses in conditions of public safety and in the absence of impediments and / or architectural barriers.
