Sasso Nero

Sasso Nero is a bespoke contemporary residence on Sydney's Northern Beaches, where architecture, landscape and topography are conceived as a single composition. Responding to its bushland setting and coastal climate, the home demonstrates a site-specific approach to residential architecture grounded in materiality, craftsmanship and environmental performance. Organised around outdoor living, the home dissolves the threshold between inside and out. Courtyards, carefully framed openings and subtle changes in level draw the surrounding bushland into everyday life while balancing privacy, natural light and cross ventilation. Rather than dominating its setting, the architecture works with the landscape to create a calm, immersive living e... More

CO2 neutral Lidl supermarket

Lidl Zero Almere is entirely made of sustainable and circular materials. So is the entire facade of this supermarket! It’s is made of our charred product Marugame. The vertical Marugame boards give the building a silvery glow when the sun shines and at the same time the façade gets a characteristic look because of the texture of the charred layer.  Anahí Clemens Sustainability is so important to us, so it is fantastic to be part of the first energy and CO2 neutral supermarket ”Lidl Zero Almere”! Biobased home by ORGA architects

Nestled in the Stameren forest near Maarn, this residence stands out for its natural and effortless connection to the surrounding landscape. Positioned at the transition between forest and heathland, each side of the house establishes a unique relationship with nature. The forest side feels intimate and sheltered, while the heathland side offers expansive views, abundant daylight, and a strong sense of openness. The design of ORGA architects makes use of natural, biobased materials, including the charred Douglas fir façade cladding “Naoshima”. Large glazed surfaces and carefully framed sightlines ensure a continuous connection with the outdoors, allowing the boundary between interior and landscape to gently fade. Capt... More

Tsubo Niwa House

This house is a Victorian large single-family dwelling situated in Hackney. The building had fallen into a state of disrepair and was in need of full refurbishment. Works included a loft, rear, and side infill extension. A set of living spaces at lower ground floor level were used as additional accommodation for visiting family, it was important for these to be connected to the main house above. The design response looked to introduce a courtyard within the plan of the living spaces to help articulate a relationship between the existing house and the new architecture.
