Quincho Agua de la Culebra

The timber wall that defines the main entrance and directs the gaze toward the river folds and unfolds to become the roof that extends toward the Bío-Bío landscape, creating a continuous architectural gesture that shapes both the arrival sequence and the experience of inhabiting the space. KUBO HOUSE

For the architect Alvaro Rojas Vio, the construction of Kubo was an opportunity to deepen his commitment to the environmental development of the seaside town of Tongoy, proposing an urban element that could deliver aesthetic value to the town. This project had to address four challenges: a small plot of land, of only 400 square meters; to provide the clients with a spectacular view of the sea in spite of tall buildings nearby; a south-facing orientation, which required a strategy to provide light and heat; and to respond to a limited budget.
