OVERVIEW
The Challenge Over 60% of all waste globally is of construction origin, with huge quantities of this waste ending in landfill. Additionally, traditional bricks and blocks are made from precious, finite raw materials which involve high energy for extraction as well as manufacture into finished fired products. It is key for the architecture, design and construction sectors to reduce their waste, become more circular and to find more sustainable low carbon means to development and a net zero society.
