All main rooms are orientated to the north with access to a number of different outdoor areas which provide shelter from prevailing winds, to capture the sun from morning until evening and to assist with cross ventilation of the entire house. Melbourne has a thing with axes – how often have you glanced down one of the mains arteries of the city and realized it perfectly frames a civic monument? This property is situated on a south entry panhandle stand with northern views in the established neighbourhood of Waterkloof Ridge, Pretoria. The aesthetics and layout of an existing two level house, completed in the 1980’s in the postmodern style, did not fulfil the requirements of the current owner.
