ArchiTALKS LAND

The ArchiTALKS focuses on the experience of LAND - Landscape Architecture Nature Development, through the words of one of its two founders, landscape architect Andreas Kipar. Starting from the German architect's biography, we retrace all the steps that led to the creation of LAND: the meeting with the agronomist Giovanni Sala (founding member of the firm), the first work experiences, the field practice and the project references: the Italian Pietro Porcinai and the Brazilian Burle Marx.  The journey and the direct knowledge of the places become crucial elements both in the path of initial formation, a trip to Italy to Goethe, and in today's professional practice. I was personally born as a gardener, I graduated as a gardener in the... More

ArchiTALKS PIUARCH

The lesson deals with the design themes proposed by the Piuarch architectural studio, founded in Milan in 1996 by Francesco Fresa, Germán Fuenmayor, Gino Garbellini and Monica Tricario.   Building on the architects’ biographies and their various educational paths, the lesson highlights the multiplicity of perspectives and references that are the basis of the multidisciplinary and transversal approach of the studio.   Our journey has been based on continuous research, and it still is today. Although it is an ever-changing journey, there is always a common idea of creating architecture together. Over time we have evolved in different ways, we have had different paths and changes, but always with that light at the... More

Enzo Ferrari Museum Film

In 2004 the project by Future System won the international competition for the design of the museum.  The project comprises two separate spaces and interventions: the renovation of the house where Ferrari was born and the new building which recalls the design of racing cars. The shape and technologies used allow the new volume of the museum, with its sculptural yellow roof that matches the background color of the team logo, to become one with the existing structure.  The museum is the result of the futurist vision of Jan Kaplicky’s architecture, with his continuous experimentation and his ability to engineer complex structures. The technologies used in constructing the roof, the building structure, as well as the aesthetic... More

Salewa Headquarters Film

The building designed for Salewa is a synonym for iconic architecture, while being sustainable at the same time. The project by Cino Zucchi Architetti and Park Associati is a reference for the territory, both for its composition choices – relation with the context – and its functional program which opens the corporate building to an interesting combination of uses. Built on the edge of the city of Bolzano, it is conceived both in its relation with the landscape of the Dolomites and in the way it is perceived from the highway, becoming a new landmark. A reference also for its attention to energy consumption and the sustainable use of resources. The decision to equip the building with the most advanced energy-saving systems has led the de... More

Retrofitting Milanese Film

In the recent years in Milan has arisen the need to recover buildings that are no longer efficient or adequate, totally altering the original plant. Recovering what already exists by improving their environmental performance with retrofitting actions is a sustainable choice because it saves the territory, which is a non-renewable and very limited resource. In these terms, the film illustrates two projects by the Milan Studio Park Associati. La SerenissimaThis building, designed in 1962 for Campari firm by the Soncini brothers could have been considered modern and technologically advanced for its time. Actually, in the contemporary condition, many of its aspects had however proved to be costly and inefficient from an energy saving point... More
