Fuu Oimachi by LATIERRA
R/URBAN DESIGN OFFICE has completed the renovation of Fuu Oimachi by LATIERRA, a former corporate dormitory in the Oimachi area of Tokyo, transforming it into a rental residence with integrated communal facilities. The project marks the first renovation and conversion within the LATIERRA urban rental housing series developed by Tokyo Gas Real Estate.

36 Jones Street Multifamily Apartments
36 Jones Street is a ground-up mixed-use building located in Jersey City, New Jersey. The 2,045-square-meter structure includes an 84-square-meter street-facing commercial space and 10 apartments across five floors.
The building strives to create not only individual homes, but also a sense of community for families and young professionals. It breathes new life into the burgeoning New Jersey neighborhood. Hotel Casa Amsterdam
Take one imposing building, consisting of three separate areas, serving a very diverse clientele, and turn it into one giant living area that caters to the need of all. That, in a nutshell, was the challenge in renovating Amsterdam’s Hotel Casa. Founded in the late 1950s to help solve the housing shortage for students, Casa has always been a hybrid of sorts, serving as the (temporary) home of hotel guests, locals, student residents and people attending a board meeting or conference. In 2010 Casa moved to a new building but the concept stayed the same. Living Room by Octave
The Living Room by Octave is the adaptive re-use of an historic structure into a 21,500-square foot educational and wellness center plus restaurant. The project is a hub for services including early childhood development programs, family therapy, art therapy, yoga, body works, a health-oriented restaurant and teaching kitchen, and a small-scale urban farm.
In addition to designing the architecture and interiors, we worked in partnership with the client Octave to conceive the project, shape its program, and then brand its services.
