Bertarelli Concert Hall
The Forum Fondazione Bertarelli originates from a thorough study of the settlement models in the inland of the Maremma plains. This 300-seat concert hall has an organic shape, perfectly self-contained and within the golden ratio, whose proportions were designed for non-mechanical acoustic amplification. From a distance as well as from close range, the Forum is not perceived as a building. Being free of openings, its rugged concrete surface with the earth tones of cement is reminiscent of a mound and fortified by wavy oxidised iron plate, which it partially envelops. Sydney Opera House Concert Hall Renewal
In 2015, ARM was given the enormous responsibility and privilege of upgrading the iconic building’s Concert Hall. The project called for modifications that were sensitive and respectful of the heritage building, whilst elevating the acoustics to a world-class standard. Our overarching aim was to upgrade the Concert Hall interior and acoustics to match the brilliance of Jorn Utzon’s exterior and Peter Hall’s interior.

Ostrava Concert Hall is one step closer to its opening crescendo
The next phase of building a new 1,300 seat concert hall for the city of Ostrava in north-eastern Czech Republic is under way. The project is the result of an international architectural competition organized by the city of Ostrava in 2018. It was won by New York-based Steven Holl Architects in conjunction with Prague-based studio Architecture Acts. Specializing in acoustic design, Japanese firm Nagata Acoustics was chosen to create the ideal sound environment for the auditorium.

The new La Source Vive concert hall in Évian
La Source Vive in Évian, France, is a new concert hall dedicated to chamber music. The hall’s imaginative conch-like form is the result of a collaboration between architects Patrick Bouchain and Philippe Chiambaretta.

Elbphilharmonie Hamburg
Hamburg has a new cultural landmark: the Elbphilharmonie, which opens its doors on January 11 and 12, 2017 in Hamburg’s HafenCity. On the banks of the river Elbe on approx. 1,700 reinforced concrete piles a building complex has emerged, which, in addition to three concert halls, will encompass a hotel, 45 private apartments, and the publicly accessible Plaza with a 360° panoramic view of the city. Belfast Waterfront Hall
The Waterfront Hall is the cornerstone project in a huge £1 billion riverfront redevelopment scheme undertaken by the Laganside Corporation – a non-governmental public body. Previously this area of Belfast had been run-down due to the decline of the ship building industry in the city.
The Waterfront Hall was one of the first projects in what became one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe. The venue includes a Main Auditorium with 2,241 seats, a studio, 14 meeting rooms, gallery space, a gift shop, restaurant and two bars.
The Waterfront Hall has become an important flagship project that Gilbert-Ash is proud to have built. It has been voted as the world’s top conference centre for several years in a row.
