Lagoa Santo Andre
Lagoa de Santo André by Studio 3A is a project born from complexity — a negotiation between nature, memory, and the strict constraints of regulatory oversight. Set on one of Portugal’s most magical beaches, the project replaces two long-abandoned restaurants with a pair of sculptural, earth-built beach restaurants that honour the landscape and its rhythms.
Valentin Surdilla
From the outset, the project faced an intricate web of building restrictions imposed by multiple public entities, making every step of the process demanding. Yet these constraints only deepened the studio’s commitment to creating architecture rooted in place — modest, enduring, and quietly powerful.

The industrial hall serves as a climatic and safety envelope for business activities, such as a production environment. Flexibility within and around the hall is crucial to optimally facilitate the activities as an envelope. The envelopes, however, are of such magnitude that the landscape is significantly impacted. The roofscape solution, developed by B-invented in collaboration with B-leaf, ensures an optimally flexible envelope with maximum use of the roof. The roof... More

Interconnection
Whyellow designs software solutions that solve specific questions. And it does so in teams of 8 to 10 engineers. Separate rooms are designed for the teams. A lot of glass and incorporated into the walls. This creates acoustically sealed project spaces with lots of interconnection between them. The use of partially architectural walls with wood decor creates a solid appearance.

The garden connection
We are always happy to welcome back our clients! We already transformed this Rotterdam family home twice back in 2013 & 2016. Now, we are working on a final intervention that completes this luxury, family home.
In 2013, P·A replaced a poorly-constructed rooftop second-floor level with a full, pitched roof form. Utilizing the full height of the roof, it now houses a renovated master bedroom, en suite, and sitting room. Spaciously reorganized, its quiet color palette results in a tranquil space for retreat.
A couple of years later, P·A designed a ground floor extension expanding interior space and facilitating a clear connection between all living spaces and the garden. Accessed via a six-step interior tribune with occupia... More

A careful reconstruction
The streets extending from Rotterdam city center have a mix of residential and commercial spaces on their ground floors. Graaf Florisstraat is no exception. A walk along this spacious tree-lined section of historic Rotterdam reveals a mix of different uses. With the growing attraction to inner-city living, and the city's imperative to increase density, ground floor commercial spaces are often converted to accommodate additions to residential spaces. This presents some challenges, but also affords new and interesting possibilities as this transformation demonstrates.
Understanding the value that living close to the center of a thriving city has, a young Rotterdam family commissioned P·A to transform the ground floor office space of t... More
