Floating falling
Artist Tineke Beunders created ‘Floating Falling’. 10/01/2020. A composition with LED light from Aptum’s ‘Contour’ system. It captures her personal feeling in geometric shapes: When grip is lost in a situation, the built-up pattern of thoughts, actions and preferences falls apart. In the composition of light, parts come loose from the structure. They change color, size and direction. It does not seem to be the intention, but at the same time the whole becomes richer and more beautiful than it once was. New insights, innovative ideas and fresh perspectives arise.

Outside lighting - Maastricht, NL
This special house in Maastricht was designed by Frank Lahaye in 1986. The architect was given 3 ingredients by his client at the time: a white house, a flat house, interaction inside and outside. Frank was inspired by Gerrit Rietveld, Richard Meier, La Corbusier.
Years later we were commissioned to design lighting for the exterior of this building. The client’s only requirement was that it should not affect the architecture, but rather enhance it. Furthermore, to our great delight: carte blanche.

BUZZ creates artful church pavilion made up out of 60 slices
The building looks like a study model blown up to full size. BUZZ designed an abstract interpretation of historical archetypes made up out of a sequence of 60 sections.

The contours of the planes follow an abstract church shape on the outside and an oval void shapes the main assembly hall on the inside. The sharp geometric exterior contrasts intentionally with the softly shaped interior.

Openings gradually grow with each slide, strengthened by lighting that accentuates the intervals.
The sections are made up out of Glass Fiber Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) on the inside with aluminum blades on the outside, creating a continuous illusion. The building is structured with a steel frame.
