The renovation of two floors of a historic building in the pedestrian area of Cuneo’s old town stems from the desire to overcome the fragmentation of the original volumes. The intervention involved an entire floor and was extended specularly to the upper level, where two additional apartments were created, mirroring the same spatial organization and the same design philosophy. The intervention area is located in front of the “Lucia Viano” Kindergarten in the Donatello district of Cuneo. Previously, it was a road section with a space used as a parking lot. Project for the Artea Foundation's operational headquarters. The premises are located in an early 20th century building in the centre of Cuneo. As a result of subsequent interventions, these rooms had elements that were at odds with the architecture of the time, such as the eclectic-neoclassical friezes and stuccoes at the entrance. The intention was to bring the rooms back to their original spirit, removing all inappropriate elements to create a neutral, clean, white environment in which to insert a few important elements to emphasise the environment. The apartment is located in a building built between the 50s and 60s of the last century in Cuneo. The approach was consistent with the original style, both in the distribution of spaces and in the use of materials. The project maintains the typical central corridor system for distribution to the various environments. An iron portal was created that divides the living area from the corridor and therefore from the study and sleeping areas. The kitchen was open space joined to the living room and was moved to a smaller room but still connected to the living room. The corridor has now also taken on the function of a reading area with the installation of a self-supporting bookcase. The area on which the low building stands is in the grounds of a building dating back to the early 20th century, headquarters of the Cuneo CAI.The low building, one floor above ground, is used as a garage and storage area for the Alpine and Speleological Rescue Service.It has a reinforced concrete base on which the wooden structure is anchored, covered externally with wooden slats and internally with simple plywood panels.The single-pitch roof is made of sheet metal with the eaves hidden inside the structure.The window and doorframes have mirrored glass and are made with a metal structure and are finished externally with wooden slats of the same essence and colour as the rest of the façade, concealing both the uprights and the crossb... The architectural studio 3Mark works on the abandoned ground floor of a building located in the historic center of the municipality of Cuneo to create spaces dedicated to the activities of a day care center managed by a cooperative. The challenge of the project was to create a large multifunctional container space that could be adapted to different activities, such as small conferences, cooking classes or book presentations. Thanks to the use of wood, the rooms look very warm. Inside the space there is a volume with a "diamond" architectural shape, which does not reach up to the ceiling so as not to disrupt the vaults.
