Architecture and Design Museum

In the quiet of Helsinki’s harbor, where international ferries arrive from afar, and the Old Town stands as a silent witness of history, a new conception of architecture takes shape – one that does not merely construct spaces, but weaves thoughts, memories, and meanings. The TCA team pursued this vision not with the haste of technology or the rush of the market, but with a meditative patience, emerging only from observing nature itself. Caption One might say that Finland’s natural heritage – the largest forested area in the world – serves not merely as inspiration, but as an intellectual connection between human and landscape. The tree, the massive timber, the stillness of nature, transform into a built... More

Wilson Sporting Goods NYC Pop-Up Experience

Founded in 1914, Wilson’s iconic brand has consistently shaped the world of sports through developments and advancements in sporting goods and gear. Their products can be found across the globe and in the hands of some of the greatest athletes at the top of their sporting leagues. And perhaps most iconic is their role and ubiquity in tennis. So, as a tie-in to the 2021 U.S. Open, Wilson looked to create a partner experience in the City that strove to capture the energy and excitement of that marquee event. Richard Cadan Photography To bring Wilson’s vision to fruition, Bergmeyer was enlisted to lead the collaboration with the Wilson creative team to create a distinctive experience; part museum, part lab, part lounge, and p... The Himalayas Museum

The Himalayas Museum was designed to be situated within the existing Himalayas Centre designed by Arata Isozaki. As a “found” space — a raw unfinished concrete interior with soaring 15m ceilings — it had a particular power and resonance with the field of contemporary art. Thus it was decided that, rather than obscuring this construction, three “rocks” housing the museum’s tripartite program of contemporary art, classical art, and education, could be situated within the existing structure, thereby creating a tension between new and old, inside and outside, raw and refined. Caption The centre of the space was reserved for large scale installations. The “lecture” rock, facing this sp... More

Cultural Centre: m.a.x. Museo and Spazio Officina

The MaxMuseo originated from the desire to dedicate a museum for visual and applied arts to the graphic designer Max Huber. On request, the city of Chiasso provided the architect with a garage site that had stood empty for years as a location for the new museum. This industrial wasteland, an area of noman’s land in the urban ensemble between the theatre and school district, was the subject of an overall plan: the vision of a new location was created. The museum became a catalyst for a new cultural district of nationwide importance. The MaxMuseo is a simple building that is substantially characterised by corresponding structure and space. All the installations have been integrated into the structure. Various translucent layers surround the m... More
