Grand in presence, vulnerable in cohesionWith the Lebuinuskerk as its defining landmark, the Grote Kerkhof, Stromarkt and Nieuwe Markt together form the historic heart of Deventer. Over time, the coherence of these squares gradually disappeared — resulting in a fragmented image of uneven asphalt, oversized parking spaces and a barren Grote Kerkhof.
Together with residents, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders, we developed a widely supported vision that re-establishes the three urban spaces as a readable and experiential whole. KOP Havenkwartier
On the corner of Mr. De Boerlaan and Industrieweg, a multiplehousing complex has been built that is connected to the existing De Koopman property. There are affordable apartments that have private outdoor space and a communal roof terrace. The maisonettes have a private entrance on the street. Wider apartments will be located on the upper level and a parking garage will be located on the first floor. The Koopman, situated next to the main entrance to the residential building, is the place for meeting and working. The entire complex will be owned by housing corporation Rentree.
