The construction is positioned at the highest level on the East side, with the house mainly opening to the West. It is distributed over three floors, taking advantage of the slope of the land. Pedestrian and vehicle access are located at different levels through Rua Dr. Domingos da Silva Coelho, utilizing the natural slope of the road and land. The building consists of two different volumetries adjoining each other. The first, in a parallelepiped form, is developed along two floors and provides the conventional program of a house.

The second volume, irregularly shaped but orthogonal, contains all secondary funtions in a single floor, which leans against the East side of the site. An overhang at the south top shades an outdoor living space that supports the pool.

The Cresta
Architect Jonathan Segal and his son Matthew Segal built the Cresta to capitalize on Southern California’s balmy climate.As far as cities with ideal climates go, San Diego ranks at the top of the list.
