The Seismic Echoes Memorial Museum is a commemorative architectural project I designed during my 5th semester, dedicated to the victims of the 2005 Kashmir earthquake. After the earthquake damaged the biggest church in town a call was made for volunteers to help create a temporary chapel so that the community could resume their daily worship and mass service.  Knowing that the repair of the original church would take a long time it was important to build a structure that could not only last for many years but also withstand another strong earthquake in the future.  The new chapel took over the courtyard space of the former home of the clergy which was across the street from the damaged church.  It was important for the community to have a large space for Sunday mass that could accommodate hundreds of visitors and worshippers.  Caption Caption The interior of the new chapel i... This family house was abandoned after a major earthquake hit the region of Friuli in 1976 and the building cracked in two. The structure was immediately secured but the family was so shocked they decide to move elsewhere.After nearly 40 years of abandonment, one of the daughters decided to make the house her home again. Social HousingThe project in Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city, locate in the Morne A Cabrit region, is a project which is designed as, 3, 4 and 5 storey buildings in a total area of 240.000 m2 area, 172 blocks (2748 dwelling) considering the social housing concept.
