Hitachi City Hidaka Elementary School
Hitachi City Hidaka Elementary School is located in Hitachi City, where Hitachi, one of the world's top 500 companies, was founded. As a renovation project for the school building, we defined the design concept of the school as "a school that nurtures children's future dreams".

The existing school building is located on the south side of the site, and the playground is on the north side. The challenges were to keep classes at the existing school in session while constructing the new building and give careful consideration to the residents of the neighboring area on the north side. In addition, use of the pool and gymnasium had to remain unencumbered.

NKU Health Innovation Center
CO Architects teamed with GBBN Architects to deliver a state-of-the-art transdisciplinary educational facility to train future healthcare practitioners at Northern Kentucky University (NKU) in Highland Heights, KY. The addition of the Health Innovation Center and renovation of the adjoining Founders Hall (built in 1974) creates a seamless complex for learning, collaboration, and practice. The unified 210,000-square-foot facility houses classrooms, offices, conference rooms, laboratories, and a full simulation and clinical skills suite to train practitioners in addressing Kentucky’s specific health challenges, including diabetes, heart disease, opioid addiction, and cardio-pulmonary illnesses. Baldwin School of PR Innovation Center
Designed by Álvarez-Díaz & Villalón (AD&V), the Innovation Center of Science, Technology and Engineering at the Baldwin School of Puerto Rico will be a new two-story, 16,800-square-foot LEED certified building. It will be ideally situated on the beautiful existing 23-acre campus of Baldwin, one of the premier independent English language day schools in Puerto Rico.
The first floor is being developed around a Maker Space, a central classroom where students with mutual interests can work together on projects while sharing ideas, equipment and knowledge. The building design is flexible, diverse and open to acknowledge a range of learners, and to reinforce critical thinking as well as complex problem solving.

BioEngineering Center
The project is an extension to the teaching infrastructure for the BioEngineering Department. Tecnológico de Monterrey’s Queretaro campus was initially organized in a more or less recognizable Cartesian mesh in its first built volumes, arbitrarily rotated 41 degrees from the north. Given the absence of order and intention in the infrastructure that was built in the last 20 years, Sasaki Design was invited to develop a new master plan. Sasaki’s attempt aims to give order and meaning to the campus, as the current set lacks meaning and identity.
