Newly built Campus Oude God with nursery and primary school with sports hall
(According to passive standard for 650 pupils in existing park master plan)
The new campus in the 'Oude God' park area in Mortsel accommodates the three existing urban primary schools and kindergartens from the immediate vicinity. The new school complex needs to be a sustainable, energy-efficient building offering cultural and social added value. The competition for the design project for the new school was won in 2005 by Binst Architects. HQ INFRAX WEST
As a utilities service provider (electricity, natural gas, cable television and sewage system), Infrax (now Fluvius) serves as an important role model for sustainable and energy-efficient construction. The high level of ambition was translated into a conceptual competition design that is totally consistent with Infrax's corporate identity. The characteristic ecological and sustainable values were translated into a project that is a metaphor of a forest: a multitude of slender concrete trunks topped with a broad green 'crown'.
