CHAMBER 28

A PHENOMENA ODYSSEY ---- STUDIO8 has designed all-day entertainment venue in Beijing Sven Zhang Sven Zhang Every time we encounter spaces, we always leave with a first impression in our minds. One of the things that are often communicated with us is the temperature of the space. It is not the actual room temperature, but rather the feeling and atmosphere that engaged our senses in various ways. Warm and cozy spaces invite us to slow down, while we avoid staying long in colder spaces. Consequently, temperature is one of the key features influencing our experience of spatial design.  Sven Zhang Sven Zhang The request for CHAMBER28 was straightforward – a new, one of a kind all-day entertainment venue in Beiji... Marquee & Avenue Nightclubs at the Marina

The concept from the very first meeting was to make the best nightclub in the world. The intent was to create a Nocturnal Carnival, a ‘playground for adults’. The blend of technology and design and the collection of different unique venues (both Marquee and Avenue in one location!), allow the space to morph over the night, and change from season to season, offering a truly unique experience every single visit. Marquee is set up as a series of follies on three different floors that the guests get to explore and discover.   There are multiple bars each with their own design twist, and while Marquee has the best table service in all of Asia, the space is playful for all guests with actual amusement rides guaranteeing a great... Temasek Club

Sited on the pristine greenery adjacent to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve and spanning 21,000 square metres, the Temasek Club was purposed as a sanctuary for Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) regulars, Full-time National Service and National Service officers to relax within the natural surrounds. DP Architects (DPA) won the design competition held by Temasek Club on the basis of its merits: chiefly, it was the only scheme that sought to conceal the volume of the club buildings by ingeniously tucking the mass within a natural valley in the terrain. The terrain was cleverly employed as a cradle for the built massing; from the main entrance court, the club appears as a single-storey building. Sensitive site-planning ensured that views of the nature res... More
