The Oblique Pavilion is an ephemeral space, configured in a 12x9 area, located between three access streets at an event fair. According to the popular Chinese legend, the discovery of tea was a wonderful coincidence attributed to the Chinese Emperor Sheng Nung, who happened to be resting under the shadows of a wild tree when a light breeze blew a few leafs off the branches and into a bowl of boiling water nearby creating an aromatic infusion which made the Emperor decide to try it and be captivated by its flavour. The pavilion 2 spaces 2 moments is the duality in which the outer space, the large scale space on everyone’s sight, captures the attention of pedestrians with a powerful yet small light threshold, inviting them to discover what is beyond, creating the first moment. The inner space is the second moment of the experience. Inside this small and quiet place made by a geometrical complex surface formed with more than 60 triangle pieces and 1,800 joints, 2 facing mirrors highlight the perspective inside the pavilion, while color and different kinds of lighting nurture this experience and create an endless loop of the inner space. In this small project we address the problem of the expressions coming from the exhibition of the material to the non-evident and that, in this case, link the architecture with natural elements. This probably reveals a conceptual richness that arises from an organic origin. We believe that these types of exercises can help to build and reveal a particular ethos, rooted in visual stimuli and evocations of the landscape.   This pavilion proposes a meeting place and exhibition of small artistic objects. In this project we worked with the idea of variable context as the main axis of the design process. This idea, although widely debated, is far from being finished. Especially when we understand the idea of context from different angles and beyond the usual notions that have to do with sites or with sociocultural backgrounds.We consider that the material aspects, and the atmospheres that can arise from them, suppose a source of concepts that can perfectly be considered as contextual. This temporary structure was born out of the Noceto municipality desire to improve and innovate the facilities of its annual local traditional town festival through the installation of a café/bar, an exhibition space and a movie screening area. A dismissed refrigerating container previously used as a scrapyard by a local slaughterhouse, a number of wooden pallets and a few boards from abandoned construction sites take new shape through a balanced and contemporary design composition. wonderWALL is an exhibition space designed to receive the masterpiece The Pool by Jen Lewin in Colombo Shopping Mall, in Lisbon, Portugal, built with approximately 20,000 strips of white and black fabric. The temporary museum is totally suspended from the skylight on the central square and presents an abstract skin which oscillates with airflows created by the movement of people.
