Santa Maria Petapa
Taller MRD and DFArquitectos collaborate to revitalize the Santa María Petapa market in Oaxaca, Mexico, offering it a new opportunity after the devastating earthquake of 2017. Established by the Urban Improvement Program (PMU) and headed by the Secretariat of Agrarian and Territorial Development and Urban (SEDATU), this project had as its main objective the unification and integration of a previously urban and socially fractured space. By preserving the site's distinctive cultural elements, such as ocher-toned brick and clay structures, the team not only managed to preserve its origin, but also forged a lasting legacy.

Plaza del Zarrón
A space for all people.
With our eyes set on at the wall and the old quarter of Almazán and imagining the movement of its inhabitants (all of them), we seek to obtain the most natural possible response to establish a real and proper relationship between this new public space and both parts of the town (the old quarter and the expansion), eliminating the previous sensation of barrier, with a 5-meter difference level, which made this passage difficult or insurmountable for some of its inhabitants.

Sava Activities
Sava Activities is an on-going public urban design project aiming to reintroduce the riverbanks of Zagreb’s Sava River to the daily life of the city. Initiated as a competition proposal in 2015, the project had been developed around the flood related characteristics of the river.
Unlike the other European capitals which are established around a river, Zagreb’s urban growth had been formed with a tendency to move away from Sava. As the wildest branch of Danube, Sava River historically had harmed and destructed Zagreb, but now regulated with the construction of the embankment; its riverbanks carry the potential to be rethought as vital urban spaces of Zagreb.
