Polish architectural studio Robert Konieczny KWK Promes has transformed a former, run-down slaughterhouse in the Czech city of Ostrava into the PLATO Gallery of Contemporary Art. The project, the result of an international competition organized by the Statutory City of Ostrava, seeks to make art more accessible and democratic. One especially notable feature is the inclusion of six magnificent revolving walls that unite indoor and outdoor spaces.

Amelia Tavella Architectes has completed the rehabilitation and extension of the 15th century Convent Saint-François in the village of Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano on the island of Corsica. Built in 1480, the abandoned convent, set in the wild Corsican landscape in the southern part of the mountainous island, had fallen into partial ruin. Berlin-based architectural studios Gustav Düsing and Büro Hacke have completed a modular and demountable steel-wood hybrid Study Pavilion for TU (Technical University) Braunschweig in Lower Saxony, Germany. The pavilion is a bright, multifunctional, and accessible building that offers a truly contemporary and flexible learning environment. Its open layout supports a range of activities, including group work, seminars, lectures, and recreation.
