The design of the new family house in the old Liboc district replaces a dilapidated building that used to stand there in the past. The new house has two floors with a partial basement. The L-shaped ground plan situated in the corner of the plot refers to the old building. The facade of the main part of the house remains in the original place where it clearly delimits a piazzetta formed by an intersection of the corner streets. Compared to the old state, the shorter facade is offset inwards, widening the street. It consists of a floor that is partially embedded in the sloping terrain with one additional floor on top. The project’s objective is the creation of an office building on the periphery of Toulouse (Occitanie region, France).The site for the new regional headquarters of APAVE is located in the neighbourhood of Borderouge, in the north of Toulouse on the interchange between the ring road and the north urban boulevard. While the parcel is outside the nearby urban development zone of Borderouge, it marks the entry into this zone and thus enjoys a highly strategic location.The program calls for the creation of 3,492 m² (37,590 ft²) of office space in a four-story building, with training rooms situated on the ground floor.We chose to align the building with the curve of the highway interchange, giving its façade maximum visibility from the ring road... Opposite the beautiful Boswachterij nature reserve in Dorst, a mere stone’s throw from Breda, a new residential area of the same name is being built. On the north side of the area, on the edge of the forest, are five lots designated for private development. The villa is situated close to the waters of the Reeuwijkse Plassen in a dutch village consisting of not much more than a narrow through road lined predominantly by large, free-standing houses standing on ‘islands’ created by the drainage ditches of the former peatland. The great attraction of this location lies in the vicinity of water and in the experience of this natural environment through the changing seasons. The villa is a renewal and extension of the original bungalow designed by Dutch architect Van der Woerd in the late 50s in Bilthoven, The Netherlands. The house is set in an exclusive residential area with large plots, dense vegetation and an open pine forest on the backside. Because the property was a heritage, the family decided to live there for a few years so they could experience the house and location before starting the renovation. The layout of two story building, of which one is partly subterranean, is fully reorganized by Lab32 architects and the idea was to orientate all rooms towards the large garden, the pool and the poolhouse. This villa for a married couple with child is built on the original location of a dated bungalow from the 60s in Haelen, The Netherlands. The villa, designed by architect Loek Stijnen from Lab32 architects, meets the residence preferences for country living. The “box” floats beautifully above the naturally undulating landscape, fitted both at the front and at the back with panoramic windows that optimize the indoor/outdoor connection. This study is meant to give a general idea of the elements that are shaping cities today. Cities of today have the same needs as those of hundreds of years ago: communication and representation. They need to be connected and they need to be attractive. The elements that provide these necessities change and evolve through time.
