The PH Loreto project corresponds to the comprehensive renovation of a single-family residence, the fourth of five functional units that form a typical PH ensemble in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Colegiales. It is a mid-20th-century construction that, like many others, had undergone successive partial interventions aimed at gaining enclosed floor area, to the detriment of spatial quality, natural daylight, and cross-ventilation. An architectural gesture that listens to the past to give voice to the present. Casa 57 emerges with the intention of recovering the essence of an abandoned colonial house in Mérida’s historic center and allowing the old and the new to meet. The project began with the certainty that history had to be the starting point. The original structure, with its double height ceilings and its hidden arch that once connected to the patio, was freed to restore its character. Maxim Loskutov   The former carriage repair depot of Moscow-Kurskaya railway station is an unusual building in a modern urban environment. Built in 1906, it is a striking example of the industrial architecture of the early 20th century, but it has not been designated as an architectural monument. After standing abandoned for several decades, the building has not lost its charm, and has even attracted new visitors.
