This home had a beautiful existing Poinciana tree in the back garden and a pair of clients with young children & a tendency towards exhibition – in response we designed this addition to provide a ‘theatre’ for the drama of growing up in a suburban home in mid inner city subtropical Brisbane.

‘The Good Life’ embodied in the design of this simple yet highly functional suburban home
Located on a generous suburban site in Fairfield, Australia, the ‘Good Life House’ by MRTN Architects takes advantage of a long northern boundary to let natural light and warmth into each and every living, eating, and sleeping space.

Though contemporary in its expression, the form and siting of the house compliments and harmonizes with existing older period homes that surround it, while a generous front setback and front garden spaces make a green contribution to the streetscape.
