Abrisham Villa

Designed during the Covid-19 pandemic, Abrisham Villa emerged from a period when domestic life was being fundamentally redefined. Located in the mountainous landscape of Shandiz near Mashhad, Iran, the project was commissioned for a multi-generational family seeking a living environment that could accommodate both collective life and individual independence. see studio see studio see studio The site was subject to strict regulations, limiting construction to two floors and 40 percent site coverage. At the same time, the family envisioned a home deeply connected to nature, outdoor activities, and shared experiences. The project therefore began with a central question: how can a compact architectural volume remain open, flexib... More

BODKA house

The story of this single-storey family house began with an architectural study of a neighboring house in 2021, when a young family with two children decided to move to the outskirts of Piešťany. The brief was to design a single-story wooden house that they can construct by themselves. Matej Hakár Matej Hakár Matej Hakár Matej Hakár Matej Hakár Matej Hakár When we first came into contact with the empty plot, we began with organizing the general layout. Our aim was to create a simple single-storey house with a high degree of privacy, that will provide more outdoor living options while offering framed views of the garden scenery. Another goal of our design was to cr... More

House Beneath the Cross Hill

House Beneath the Cross Hill is a modest timber home designed by hurá studio for the architect’s parents, built largely by the architect’s father himself. Nestled on a gentle slope below a local landmark known as Cross Hill, the house embraces its setting through simplicity, craftsmanship, and a deep connection to the landscape. The project reflects a family collaboration and a search for authenticity — an architecture of care, restraint, and enduring warmth. Lucie Kastnerová The home stands on the southern slope below the Calvary hill (Cross Hill), at the edge of a small Czech town. Its southern gable opens through large windows toward the opposite hillside, while the rear elevation is embedded into th... More

Shell

SHELL is modern architecture that functions as a protective shield. The house guards the family’s inner world from the city’s noise, much like a shell protects its most precious contents. Externally, it presents a restrained, almost monolithic form made of long-format brick, broadcasting reliability and inaccessibility. Yet inside, it reveals a delicate beauty and absolute comfort. This is a space where safety meets lightness, and walls become not barriers, but intellectual filters between the bustling world and your personal peace. Bezmirno Architects Bezmirno Architects Bezmirno Architects Concept At the core of the project lies an architectural paradox — “transparent privacy.” We created... More

Stedelijk wonen aan de historische Hoflaan

From Run-Down House to Townhouse: An Oasis of Comfort In a beautiful location in Kralingen, Rotterdam, a small, dilapidated house has been transformed into a luxurious townhouse. The long and narrow plot required a carefully considered design. Ultimately, the shared side walls and part of the front facade were preserved, while the rest was renewed and seamlessly integrated into the classical streetscape. Jeroen Musch Jeroen Musch Jeroen Musch The interior has been carefully designed and furnished with great attention to detail. The oak staircase with a large atrium connects the living floors and serves as a defining feature of the space. A generous skylight brings additional daylight down to the ground floor. GAL House

A family wanted to build a special house on a plot with a significant slope west oriented, facing a wide plain full of oaks at the foot of Madrid Mountains. The location is great, because from there you can see incredible sunsets, with the domes of El Escorial Monastery and the mountains on its background. OOIIO Architecture On the plot itself there were already several oak trees and very hard granite rocks emerging from the ground, a very typical landscape of this area. In fact, an old wall made of this same granite material closes the plot in its lower side. A stone barrier that is probably centuries old and will be a great opportunity to recover and integrate it as the exterior fencing of the new house. Without a doubt, a plot in... More

FRONDAL

With a site of moderately marked topography, this house adapts and permeates very well with its context. It was conceptualized under the premise of seeking a single level in the majority of the house, making it a discreet and private project. It moves in a square shape in such a way that we prioritize the view and green areas for social areas and we propose a body for the bedrooms that generates privacy and is oriented towards the South. Both elements are subtly isolated by a common patio. Arturo Arrieta Arturo Arrieta Under this criterion we contain the public spaces and green areas and organically the composition functions as a division between the other houses. The architecture in the social area presents a modular system of r... More

HOUSE IN PRAGUE – LIBOC

The design of the new family house in the old Liboc district replaces a dilapidated building that used to stand there in the past. The new house has two floors with a partial basement. The L-shaped ground plan situated in the corner of the plot refers to the old building. The facade of the main part of the house remains in the original place where it clearly delimits a piazzetta formed by an intersection of the corner streets. Compared to the old state, the shorter facade is offset inwards, widening the street. It consists of a floor that is partially embedded in the sloping terrain with one additional floor on top. The entrance to the plot remained on the north side together with the main entrance to the house in the center of the facade.... More
