Haribo Factory
Haribo’s gummy bears have symbolized a seemingly innocent and colorful world of joy for over a century. Children and adults alike associate them with lightheartedness, innocence, and playful pleasure. Yet Theodor W. Adorno, one of the sharpest critics of the culture industry, would have seen in this cheerful sweetness the mechanisms of mass production and standardized desires. The Kitchens
The Kitchens by Landini Associates is an Australian first in food retailing. A swirling mix of food court, hall and factory, under one roof and one brand: “The Kitchens”.
A Gastronomic theme park of provenance, passion, quality and community, laughter, music and stories about how food is made, by real people, for real people, in real time. A cacophony of eating, munching, making, baking, markets and maître-d’s.
Engaged by QIC to reinvent “fresh food” in Australia, Landini created a “city of food”, transforming a mono-floored hall into a two story buzz of “manufacturers that sell” and “retailers that make”.
