Italianate Remodel

A first-place kitchen remodel CotY award winner and best of show, our Italianate project was an extensive remodel; the entire back side of the house is all new. We relocated a major stairway and redesigned to work with the new program of the main floor and the entire house. - The main and upper floors were remodeled including a new dining room and kitchen. The remodelling of the foyer in the Museum of Military History in Vienna dramatically enhances the already imposing entrance with statues of famous generals. Clear spatial structures take shape, concentrating the different functions in the hall and offering a natural sense of orientation. The optimal position of the various sections is conveyed through sightline axes and movement lines. In order to support orientation in the imposing spatial structure, the ticket office and information platform is conceived out of a symbiosis of old and new as an extended “island platform” evoking a military commander’s post. NYC Loft Renovation

Located in a historic downtown New York building, this loft has a challenging long and narrow shape, and the clients had a complex set of requirements: Both husband and wife work from home, they frequently entertain large groups, and they often have overnight guests. In addition to the kitchen, dining room, living room and master suite, the program included his and her offices, a den, a guestroom, a sitting/TV room, a second guest space, and space for a large book collection.
