LOOP HOMES PALACE GRANADA
The proposal brings to date and transforms two 19 th century palaces into a modern university dormitory. The change of use, always with a major respect to the existing building, is conceived in a strong and recognizable way, by the incorporation of contemporary architectonic elements and furniture which are clearly different of the original architecture.

The group of buildings result from the sum of two mansions joint by a connection gallery, which are very special due to its typology and compositional characteristics with a great cultural, historical and architectonic significance. This is the reason why the palaces’ main elements need to be preserved and protected.

Archeological cuts in the heart of the historic city
The city always hides, under its walls, hidden secrets, forgotten situations and opportunities that do not appear at first sight. Matters, objects, spaces, are there, dormant, waiting to be discovered. In these cases one would like to be an archaeologist to, with his infinite tenacity and patience, scratch the surface, stripping the architecture of its multiple layers superimposed over the years until it reaches its skeleton. We would classify the found materials to displace them, replacing them in a completely new way. We would also draw a map of everything we have found to keep it always present.

Hospital Campus de la Salud
There are two major constraints that set the guidelines for the architectural and functional design of the building. We created two large juxtaposed zones in dialogue with each other. First we have the clinical and service areas, organised around a central patio upon which the whole building rests. Secondly, we have the outpatient and hospital areas, which occupy the arms which emerge from it and which open towards the city as well as the imposing views of the Sierra Nevada.
It is a model hospital and will constitute the key element in the activities of the new Campus de la Salud de Granada. We have tried to optimise circulation, grouping all the units of each expertise on the same level, distributing the functional area following the heal... More
