MAJC HOUSE
Designed to sit discreetly within the rolling landscape of the Garda moraines, MAJC House is a single-family residence with an annex and a swimming pool that faces a site of particular natural value and stringent landscape constraints. The architecture does not pursue iconic effects but favors harmony with the site, adopting chromatic and material choices that are continuous with the earth and surrounding vegetation.
The living area, conceived as a glazed volume, establishes a direct relationship with the outdoors: large openings abolish the distinction between inside and outside, while earth-toned walls and sage-green brise-soleil evoke the presence of the vegetation.

White Fortress
Embodying the architectural attributes of Northern Gulf architecture of privacy and discretion, the White Fortress is enveloped by towering, thick walls that offer protection from the harsh climate and arid surroundings, while enclosing a serene and inviting interior. The dwelling program is laid out on the ground floor, organized around patios within a rectangular walled enclave. Glazed facades in the main social area and patios are thoughtfully integrated, complementing the dwelling's traditional composition. Giving diversity of experiences, each patio or courtyard is designated with the different function; to greet, to rest, and to celebrate.

Hudson Concrete House
KOKO’s brief for the Hudson Concrete House was to design a country escape for an art collector in the Hudson River Valley that could also incorporate an experiential home for his expansive art collection. KOKO was actively engaged with the site selection and several properties with existing historic agricultural structures were considered. In the end, the only land restriction at the chosen plot was that the geo-marker set in concrete at the highest point of the mountain could not be disturbed.

Room 11 responds to the great glass houses of modernist architecture with a Tasmanian vernacular interpretation
Located on the Tasman peninsula at Koonya, Glass House by architect Thomas Bailey of Room 11 is a learned response to the great glass houses of modernist architecture with a Tasmanian vernacular interpretation of the typology. The idea was for the structure to recede, and to let the landscape be the experience of the house.

Critical to the success of the house and its thermal performance was the siting of the house. The client and architect walked the site and nailed stakes into the locations selected by Thomas.
